Exams & results

Exam terms, schedules, marks entry, the results wizard and publishing results.

A task-focused guide: follow the steps when you need to get something done.

Exams are managed in Exams Setup (administrator, accountant and manager). Teachers enter marks in Exams; students see results in Exams.

Exam terms

An exam term is a named exam period (for example, “First Term Exam”, “Final Exam”, or a type like term or ad_hoc). A term stores only its name, type and dates:

  1. Open Exams Setup → Terms.
  2. Add a term with a name and dates.

No hall rooms on terms

Exam terms do not carry a hall room or exam room. Rooms are optional fields on individual , and seat-plan room names are typed at print time.

Exam schedules

  1. In Exams Setup → Schedules, add a schedule for a term.
  2. For each schedule, set the subject, date, time and (optionally) a room.
  3. You can scope a schedule to a specific section.

Marks entry (teachers)

  1. A teacher opens Exams.
  2. Chooses the term and their subject.
  3. Enters marks in a bordered, touch-friendly marks sheet.

Teachers with multiple subjects only see their own subjects.

The results wizard

Once marks are in, run the results wizard (Exams Setup):

  1. Choose the term.
  2. Run the wizard — it computes per-subject and overall totals, GPA (on the standard 5.0 scale), grades, A+ grades, and positions (class-wide and per-section).
  3. Publish the results.
  • The wizard can be re-run as many times as you need.
  • Publishing never sends SMS unless you tick the “Send SMS” checkbox.
  • If public results are enabled, publishing also populates the public results page (see below).

Students view results

Students open Exams to see their own marks, grades, GPA and position, plus their academic transcript (per-term subjects, totals, cumulative GPA/grade and best position).

Publishing results publicly

To let people look up results by student ID without logging in:

  1. Enable public results in Settings (per-school toggle).
  2. Publish results — they are copied to the public results table.
  3. Share the public /results page.

See Guardians & the public.

Certificates and report cards

Result certificates, mark sheets and transcripts are template-driven. Print them from:

  • Exams Setup → Certificates — result certificates and position/achievement certificates.
  • Bulk Print → Results — report cards for a whole class.

See Certificates & templates.

Ad-hoc results from quizzes

Teachers can also turn a quiz into a formal result from inside the Quiz section — see Quizzes.

Tips

  • Create terms early so teachers can enter marks as soon as the exam finishes.
  • Use the “Send SMS” checkbox sparingly — publishing is usually silent.
  • Verify positions look right (especially section positions) before printing report cards.
