Librarian guide
How the librarian runs the library in ApexityEdu.
A role-specific guide: everything this kind of ApexityEdu user can see and do.
As the librarian you manage the school’s books and borrowers. Open Library to do everything.
The library catalogue
- Add books to the catalogue with title, author, subject and other details.
- Search and filter the catalogue by title, author or category.
- Edit book details and mark copies as available or unavailable.
Issuing books
- Find the book in the catalogue.
- Select Issue.
- Choose the student or staff member borrowing it.
- Set the due date (your school’s default loan period may be pre-filled).
- Confirm.
The book is now marked as issued, and the borrower sees it in their own Library screen.
Returns and overdue
- When a book comes back, open it and select Return. The book becomes available again.
- The library screen shows overdue loans so you can follow up with borrowers.
Who else uses the library
- Students browse the catalogue and see their own loans.
- Staff can borrow books too.
- Only you (and the administrator) manage the catalogue, issues and returns.
Beyond the library
The librarian also has access to the student-facing modules — Home, Academics, Attendance, Homework, Quizzes, Exams, Fees, Notices, Feedback, Health and Leave — so you can use the platform the same way a student or staff member would for your own information.
